Our Assistant Teachers and aides work together with Lead Teachers
-Developing lesson plans (Leads do most of the lesson planning but assistants are encouraged to help as well!)
-Meeting the individual’s needs of the children
-Parent communication
-Participation in staff and training meetings
-Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
-Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
-Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills.
-Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
-Building teamwork.
Assistant Teacher Qualifications:
-12 post-secondary credits in early childhood development or a related field.
-Experience working with children ages 6 weeks-6 years.
-High school diploma or GED.
-Minimum of 18 years of age.
Aide Teacher Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED.
-Minimum of 18 years of age.
-Experience with 6 weeks to 6 years preferred, not required.
